“You guys can’t envision the final collapse of capitalism? Incredible!”
Putting together a zine is pretty fun. Now I have an excuse to wear a hat with a (homemade) press badge. I have a newfound appreciation of the trickiness of balancing layout that is both readable and visually appealing. I’m sure fine arts majors would shudder at my margins and design choices. But there’s something fun about making a small collection of articles.
Cathode Zine is, like this very blog, primarily concerned with video games. I used screenshots I took while playing some of the games to break up the text. I also borrowed some illustrations from the official website for UFO 50 (about half-way down the page in the media section there is a zip file containing said illustrations; some may call it a “press kit”).
